Hello friends and family!
Welcome to my blog. I can’t believe I’ve been doing this DTS for a whole month already! Let me give some updates on what I’ve been doing here!
Ministries:
Each day here at the base they have a different ministry happening. The DTS students are involved in one of those ministries each week. For the last three weeks we’ve been doing homeless ministry. This week me and two other girls from my DTS are gonna be a part of running Youth ministry on Friday nights.
A day in the life:
We eat breakfast all together. Then everyone has an hour of quiet time to read the Bible and pray in solitude. Then we come back together to have a time of either worship or intercessory prayer. After that the DTS goes to lectures for three hours. We get a new teacher each week teaching on a new topic. After that we have lunch and study time and ministries.
We’re working on a project called UPG (unreached people groups) where each DTS student picks a group of people who haven’t been reached with the gospel to study for the next five weeks and then give a presentation on and lead a time of intersession for. (there’s still so many unreached people groups in the world!)
On top of this there is so much that has been happening and I just don’t have enough time to write it all! My favorite part of being here is the people; getting to know the staff and the volunteers and my fellow students, who are all so unique and fun and love Jesus with their lives! This past weekend we went on a hike where we stayed overnight on top of a mountain in hammocks and ate beans and rice and played worship music in the morning as we watched the sun come up. That was such a blast! There is so much more but this is all I have time to write about for now.
