On April 6th we will be leaving for local outreach in Costa Rica for two weeks where we will focus on doing Bible distribution near the boarder of Nicaragua. Then we will fly to Greece and after that Cypress and possibly one other country. We can’t say for sure what exactly we’ll be doing in those countries because its largely up to our contacts (the churches and missionaries we’ll visit) but it sounds like some of our ministries will be related to street preaching, and evangelism alongside public worship.
I am super excited! These past few weeks have been filled with lots of fun activities and side quests besides the regular ministries, some of which included going to a local rodeo and visiting a swimming hole with a waterfall. A group of high school kids from Nova Scotia have been here for the past nine days for a mission trip, and of all the groups who have come so far, I believe they are some of the kindest, most sincere young believers I have met, and a few of them have expressed an interest in coming back!
I myself have an interest in returning, and I believe God has been giving me a lot of direction lately about what he wants me to do after DTS.
Also, another highlight is that this week’s topic of spiritual warfare is being taught by an old man who grew up on the mission field in the Peruvian Amazon jungle in the Andies, and mealtimes have become times for him telling stories from his youth about hiking into the jungle for days on end at eight years old to hunt with the local tribes, killing Jaguars and catching pythons big enough to swallow crocodiles.
Prayer points:
- JP (one of our DTS leaders) is going through the process of pericyte detox, which isn’t fun. So please pray for his health.
- Pray that God would give more direction and open more doors for finding contacts in our outreach destinations – and tell us whether or not we’ll be going to the third county after all.
- And as always that God would continue to aid me in the process of learning Spanish; especially for the sake of local outreach.
