Student Ministry in Cyprus

Hello friends and family!

Our first few days in Cyprus have been amazing! During our orientation with our contacts here we learned that one of the main focuses of their ministry is to engage and gather students (EGS!). Young people from all over Europe and the middle east and Africa come here to study, so the first couple days we wandered the streets passing out fliers for the worship/evangelism event that our contacts do every year, called The Gathering.

On Friday and Saturday night we helped out with the event! We got to speak with Muslims and share the gospel with people of different worldviews and religions and pray for people and best of all we got to witness several of the people we invited accept Jesus as their Lord and savior and receive freedom from lifelong bitterness and pain through the power of forgiveness! Two Iranian girls who Emma invited gave their lives to Jesus and Aimee had the opportunity to pray over another young Middle Eastern woman who became a Christian and with tears in her eyes as we worshiped together said that it was the best day of her life! We are so exited to continue building relationships with these people through discipleship Bible studies and worship gatherings and to continue connecting with and investing in the people here!

Some things you can pray for are:

  • God’s protection and continued affirmation over the people who gave their lives to Jesus during The Gathering (especially the ones who come from extremely Muslim families and countries who may even be risking their lives by becoming Christians)
  • For continued discipleship and guidance for these new believers.
  • Energy and health for our team and that the Enemy would have no foothold in any area.
  • That God would guide us to the right people to make lasting relationships with.
